Typical Day
Simon Says starts his day at 5:00AM, precisely. He drinks a healthy protein shake, fixes himself an egg white omelet, then jogs on his treadmill in his home gym for forty-five minutes while watching CNN and MSNBC to get the world and business news. His clients depend on Simon being current with what is going on in finance and globally. Simon scans his Twitter feeds and his email while on the treadmill as well. So far, nothing urgent has come up—but it's early.
After he is done working out, Simon showers and puts on a power suit with a red tie. He has a meeting today with a very important potential client who is the head of a new biotech company, Shmoopville Enterprises. They need someone to rev up their sales force for a new product they're coming out with. If they can take things to the next level, they'll be as hot as Apple.
Simon needs to convince this new client that he is the one to turn this company into the next big thing. To lead the sales force to victory by tapping into their inner power and strength.
Simon hops into his fancy sportscar, which is leased and way beyond his price range. Image is everything in Simon's business and he must present himself like he is someone who could afford this car. He wishes he actually could.
Ugh, must banish negative thoughts. They will sink him right now. He must get in a better frame of mind.
Inside the car, he switches his iPhone on to play his favorite Anthony Robbins CD full of positive affirmations that help him. After sitting in traffic for twenty minutes on the 405 freeway, Simon starts to worry about the time. He has left plenty early allotting for this...still you never know when you might get stuck with a sigalert in Los Angeles before they shut the entire freeway down. This time it's only a minor fender bender he sees as he drives past the police lights.
The freeway opens up and Simon switches the track on his iPhone to now play his training mentor, Mr. Because Isaidso. Mr. Isaidso is always a calming influence when Simon is on his way to meet a new client.
Simon repeats his affirmations over and over in his mind and out loud in his car.
I can do this. I got this. This is mine. I'm a winner. I won. I can do this. I got this. This is mine. I'm a winner. I won. I can do this. I got this. This is mine. I'm a winner. I won. I won. I won. I won.
Simon loves being a winner. It makes him feel good.
When Simon gets to the gates of Shmoopville, he is greeted by a beautiful, young assistant who escorts him through the glass monolithic building to the twenty-third floor. Mr. Hans Ono is waiting in his office for him.
Simon has to be impressive, and he is. He pulls out all the stops.
"Have you read my book?" Simon asks.
He has.
"Then you know I'm going to tell you it's time to take stock of your house. You need to get everyone on board for this new change that's coming. You need to own it. Are you ready? Are you ready to make a difference? To take charge?”"
"Yes," says Hans. "But how do I know—"
"You know. You knew the answer before I even came here. Before I walked in the door. You knew we were going to work together. You know I'm going to keep you on the straight and narrow and make you charge ahead. I won't let you fall. I will lift you and your whole team up to rise and be the conquerors that I know you are within."
Hans likes this. He likes to be thought of as a conqueror. He likes what Simon is selling and twenty minutes later, Simon has a six-figure contract that will more than pay for his car, his office, and a few new toys along the way. Not only that, but once word gets out that he has Shmoopville, there will be others who will want to jump on the Simon wagon.
On the way home, Simon plays James Brown in his car and sings along. He doesn’'t even mind the miserable traffic he is once again stuck in.
Back in the office, Simon has a client waiting for him who is in crisis. Her husband has just told her he wants a divorce and she's a mess.
Simon reminds her that she still has her power. She needs to move forward and make a plan for what she wants to have happen with her life. He spends a good hour and a half with the woman who leaves feeling energized and ready to take on the world.
Simon loves his job. He's good at it. Simon works answering calls and clients until late in the night. If he is not talking directly to a client, he's thinking about strategy on how to help them. He's a workaholic, but a happy one. Now it looks like he's going to have the monetary wealth and success he envisioned. Right here, right now.
Simon goes to bed after midnight. He says his nightly affirmations before nodding off to the sounds of his mentor in his head. You've done it. You're a winner.
Life is good when you dream and now Simon's dreams are coming true.
