Power
You have the power to save lives. When people are drowning, be it at the beach or the pool, they're counting on you to fish them out. You not only have to be a great swimmer, you need to be a lifesaver in many ways.
That overweight guy having the heart attack at the pool? You're the one who's going to give him CPR and hopefully keep him warm and breathing until the EMTs arrive.
The little girl lost at the beach? You're responsible for getting her back to her frantic mommy.
The guy wearing boots on his hands like they're mittens? Okay, maybe not your responsibility...unless he gets into the water.
You also have the power to kick rowdy kids out of the pool and to demand that they, "Walk! Stop running! Walk!"
You are the responsible adult at all times. The PIC (person in charge). You make the rules and folks have to listen to you. This is your beach. This is your pool.
