20-Year Prospect
Magic is one of those weird carnival-like attractions that seems like it should've been left in the days of horse-drawn carriages and handlebar mustaches. But somehow it keeps hanging on—not unlike handlebar mustaches (thanks hipsters).
As technology becomes more magical, magic adapts to technology to create tricks no one has seen before. These days you see magicians like Simon Pierro incorporating 21st century gadgets into their routines. This will probably only continue in the coming decades.
These advances in technology are also responsible for entire routines that we haven't seen before. Much like Houdini needed the advances in anatomy and metallurgy to create his trick locks and suits, many of the illusions Criss Angel performs would've been literally impossible before the Digital Age. So we guess that means you can blame the internet for Criss Angel.
