Odds of Getting In
If while browsing the popular job-finding websites out there on your epic journey to becoming a cartographer you find that there are only like two listings that relate at all to anything you want to do for a living, don't freak out.
Well...try not to, anyway.
Since cartography is a small field, it's rather difficult to find a job when first starting out. That's why it's always a good idea to complete an internship in college, if possible, and to look at careers that are similar to cartography, where your skill set might still be applicable. Once you get familiar with the field, it's easier to figure things out.
Don't give up hope. Just make sure you're flexible in your aspirations...and also that you have a backup career plan. You know, just in case.
