Glory

In many ways, being an oncologist is a roller coaster ride. Some patients respond better than others to treatment, and it takes a lot of mental toughness to handle that as the doctor. This is where glory comes into play.

Oncologists have to focus on the good they do, on the lives they save, and on the comfort and hope they give to their patients. It's very rewarding to be someone's lifeline. It's also an enormous responsibility.

There are things beyond human control that occur when treating a patient. The glory is found in doing everything possible for each patient you treat. And every night, just before you fall asleep, your last thought will be that you're grateful for the chance to make a real difference in the lives of others. That's the definition of glorious.
