Physical Danger
Scientists know how to protect themselves against potential hazards. What, you thought the knee-length lab coat, bug-eyed goggles, and powder-free gloves were fashion statements?
All that gear is pretty good at protecting you from physical hazards, as long as you're careful in what you do and follow standard safety procedures. But if something does get in your eye, you can look forward to a fun-filled time sending your eyeballs down the water slide and standing under the eyewash shower. Sure you've got soaking wet clothes for the rest of the day, but that beats a chemical burning at your cornea any day of the week. Trust us.
