You have the power to hire and fire people, as well as promote them. You're the boss.
Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility. It's hard to feel good about firing someone who is depending on you for their income or is supporting a family.
On the other hand, you could be giving an opportunity to someone to start out working for you, who will take the ball and run with it, and one day decide to buy their own franchise. Talk about the circle of life.
