Like fame, your best hope for everlasting glory is probably another World War. The most successful, revered submarine commanders are the ones considered the most “effective” in combat. By the way, “effective” here means most numbers of enemy ships hit by torpedoes, and therefore lives lost. As a submarine commander, you can definitely leave a legacy. What that legacy entails is a matter of interpretation.
