Odds of Hanging On
Your odds are good, but don't leave your watch in anyone's abdomen or sew a patient up with knitting needles. Do everything by the book, don't make any mistakes (in other words, be super-human), and you'll be just fine. If you've spent so many years training, it's highly likely you're not leaving to go work for UPS on a whim.
You should also carve out a nice life for yourself away from the hospital so that you can hang on mentally and emotionally. You may not see your family as much as you'd like, but make the most out of your time with them, donate to charities, and take up some fun, relaxing hobbies. You have enough pressure at work—you don't need it when you go home, too. Hence the stamp collecting.
