Physical Danger
The first part of the taxidermy process involves some pretty heavy lifting. Big muscles and a strong stomach will be necessary for skinning bucks and working with life-sized mannequins on industrial-strength forms.
The chemicals are strong and you'll be exposed to whatever needs to be disinfected or have the equipment to clean bird feathers and dust. You and your customers won't appreciate the infections or reactions to allergens flying around your waiting area.
If you do require medical attention, health insurance will be a concern and will take a big bite out of your pocket. There are some options available with club memberships, so keep in touch with your network.
