Telecommunications technology is a popular line of work, so the current projected growth rate for telecommunications techs is below average. But, that doesn't mean it's impossible to find a job. And if it is, there are a number of alternate careers you're qualified to do, such as cable installation and service, electronic repair, and freelance networking, just to name a few.
We live in a technology-driven world, where things can change quickly. So your odds of getting in, especially with a degree, are pretty good. But it may take a totally different kind of networking than thinking about routers and access points—you'll need to use social and professional networking to help you land a job.
