Odds of Hanging On
Careers for biochemists and biophysicists are expected to grow by nineteen percent through 2022, so it looks like toxicology careers are like powerful viruses that only grow stronger over time (source). Got to like those odds, right?
With so much demand for trained toxicologists (combined with a major deficit of graduating scientists to fill out the ranks), the only way you're losing this gig is if you instigate a researcher "food fight" with lab samples, or happen to read on the internet that there are high-paying jobs that don't put you in contact with potentially lethal substances all day. Huh. Imagine that.
