Physical Danger
You could find yourself in some dangerous foreign lands interpreting for diplomats or soldiers.
The Afghani interpreters for NATO have one of the most dangerous jobs around.
Or you could fall into something similar to the plot of the The Interpreter and hear that someone's going to assassinate some country's leader (because you are coincidentally one of only six people in the world who understand Click language. Just don't expect to go unnoticed looking like Nicole Kidman with bright red hair and six feet tall. That only works in the movies.
Other than those outliers, the job is pretty safe. Most translators work domestically in an office or even from their own homes. Just watch out for paper cuts.
