Common Core Standards
Grade 8
Speaking and Listening SL.8.1
Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade 8 topics, texts, and issues, building on others' ideas and expressing their own clearly.
We love class discussions! They're the best place to tell the world about how much we love what we're talking about!
Oh, you're not that excited? That's, uh, okay too, we guess. You're missing out, though. There's so much you can get excited about in a class discussion! Look at all of it:
1. You get to apply what you've learned to look smart in front of your classmates!
2. You get to learn how to talk things out with others respectfully!
3. You get to play connect the dots with classmate's ideas! Who doesn't love connect the dots?
4. You get to learn how to make your opinions more nuanced!
Still not excited? That's fine, we guess. More enjoyment for us.
