Character Analysis
The elder Prince has much more sense than his wife, and he and his daughter, Kitty, have a close relationship. The Prince is humorous, good-natured, and likes Levin, while the Princess simply doesn't understand Levin. The Princess tends to be taken in by all fashionable aspects of society: being European, modern doctors, Vronsky, etc. The Prince, however, is old-fashioned and has more in the way of common sense.
