Character Analysis
Yashvin is Vronsky's best friend, and also a degenerate gambler and drinker. Yashvin also serves in the army alongside Vronsky. He is the one friend of Vronsky's in whom Vronsky confides about his affair with Anna. Yashvin is also one of the few people that continues to visit Anna after the rest of society has abandoned her. By the end of the novel, Yashvin has lost everything at cards and is fleeing to the war in Serbia. He convinces Vronsky to go as well, since Vronsky doesn't seem to have anything else to live for.
