With all the superbrains in this story, it might seem a bit surprising that we picked Groves (bulldog that he is) as the Guide/Mentor of our story.

However, we think his steadfast support of Oppenheimer—especially as people voice their various concerns about his reliability and leadership skills—is key to Oppie finding the strength to carry on. Groves's faith in Oppenheimer is unwavering, allowing Oppenheimer to get on with what he does best: sciencing. (That's a word, right? Well, if not, it should be. Harrumph.)
