One of the great opportunities in teaching about the Constitution is, of course, the chance to playthis classic videofrom Schoolhouse Rock for you students. Ah, the soothing sounds of 70s folk music. Of course, you'll also face several challenges in teaching this unit. 

Often the Constitution itself takes a backseat while studying the government it created. We spend more time examining controversial policy decisions and the often tense relationship between the branches of government than we do analyzing the articles and amendments of our founding document. Therefore, we suggest that you take some time to lead your students through an examination of some of the critical portions of the Constitution.
