Character Analysis
Gladys is Neil's aunt. He's lived with her since his parents moved to Phoenix for their asthma. We don't get to know her well, or see things from her perspective. However, her loving relationship with Neil lends a feeling of tenderness to the story, and her insistence on cooking four separate dinners every night adds a nice pinch of zaniness to the story. Why are aunts always the crazy ones?
