Jim Byron (Dad)

As far as Ben's concerned, Public Enemy #1 is his father, Jim. The two fight all the time. In Ben's eyes, his father is an Ahab-like figure whose obsession with sailing is going to get people killed.

Is that the real Jim? Or is he just a sad, flawed man who misses his dead wife? This question is open to interpretation.
