The second huge Harry Potter fan site is The Leaky Cauldron. Definitely worth checking out!

Any questions about what, exactly, a basilisk is? Or how Araminta Meliflua is connected to Phineas Nigellus? This site is the place to go, an encyclopedia with useful subject headings to guide your browsing.

Harry Potter Wikipedia, with entries on pretty much everything you can find in the books. Looking for a picture of Gregory the Smarmy? Try here.

Nice notes on Joanne Kathleen Rowling; it has a bare bones design, but is filled with helpful information.

This was the second Harry Potter film directed by Chris Columbus, who also directed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001).

Basically the go-to source for all direct quotes from J.K. Rowling on Harry Potter's world. It really doesn't get much more comprehensive than this.
