Wake Up, People!
- Jackson tells the to really think for once about their proposals and see if they make sense.
- Even if you think they do, does it warrant breaking up the Union?
- If South Carolina is right, then everything the founders have done to try to create a nation was in vain.
- Giving the government the power to levy taxes and pass laws; having the states swear to uphold the laws—all in vain.
- You're pretty much saying, yeah, we know the Constitutions granted those rights to Congress, but we—one little state—don't like the motives behind this law (which we can't really know with certainty, but whatever) so we won't follow it.
- But that's not all.
- You're even questioning the role of the Supreme Court, something that nobody thinks is unconstitutional.
- How ridiculous is that?
