Batman/Bruce Wayne

Batman's also known as The Dark Knight, and even though this was his first movie that didn't put his name in the title, we all know who the hero is here. The story's defined by his quest to save Gotham from the criminal underworld, and his actions spark the first real changes for the better in the city he calls home. He sends the underworld scattering; he travels all the way to Hong Kong to nab Mr. Lau and send the mob to jail; and at the end of the day, when everything he's fought for lies teetering on the brink, he takes the blame for Harvey's killing spree in order to keep Gotham City safe and secure. Heroes don't come any bigger, and like Chuck Norris said, sometimes they get to wear black.
