Narrator and Bruno Jenkins

Our narrator and Bruno Jenkins are both young boys who get turned into mice. Other than that, though, they have pretty much nothing in common. Here's a quick laundry list:

• Our narrator lives with his grandma, Bruno has a mom and a dad;
• Our narrator is generous and humble, Bruno is greedy and boastful;
• Our narrator is clever, Bruno doesn't even notice he's been turned into a mouse;
• Our narrator takes down all the witches in England, Bruno watches from the sidelines (i.e., grandma's handbag).

Because the two boys both undergo the same transformation, their differences are even more obvious – this helps us understand just how kind, brave, and intelligent our narrator really is.
