Odds of Getting In
The job outlook—meaning the projected rate of change in employment—for audiologists for the years 2010-2020 is about thirty-seven percent, which is really good; the average growth rate for all careers is just fourteen percent. The need for audiologists is only going to grow and grow.
There are a lot of job openings for audiologists in certain states, especially in California, Ohio, Vermont, Kentucky, New Jersey, Montana, Wisconsin, and Maine. If none of those tickle your fancy, chances are that all fifty states (plus Puerto Rico) probably have openings—and will continue to have openings—for audiologists for a very long time. So while a handful of states are more desperate, any one of them would be glad to have you.
