There isn't a whole lot of physical danger associated with audiology. You may get one or two raging I-told-you-so! mothers of teenagers who, because they haven't taken earphones out of their heads since they were eleven, are going deaf in both ears. Chances are, though, that these ladies won't take it out on you—at least not on purpose. (Just to be safe, before one of these appointments, hide the sharp objects—the ear wax removal tools is a good start.)

You also may also get some old timers with dementia or Alzheimer's disease who may throw their hearing aids at you, but those things are getting lighter and smaller every year.

But real danger? Not really. You’re pretty safe in this career.
