CSIs are unlikely to face autograph hounds or show up in the pages of a tabloid with headlines like "See the CSIs Who Make 'Bringing Home the Bacon' Possible," "Their Shocking Brick Homes," and "They Have Golden Retrievers." Headlines aren't a part of a CSI's life if they do their jobs correctly. Neither are medals of honor or trophies.
CSIs can and probably do sleep pretty well at night knowing their work ensures the safety of food that will eventually end up on thousands of people's plates each week. Think about it the next time you make a sandwich or go out with your friends for a meal. Someone you've never heard of (and probably never will) is responsible for the safety of the food you're eating. It kind of makes you want to say out loud, "Thanks whoever you are for making sure it's okay for us to eat these fajitas."
It's nice to be grateful, but people might think you're kind of weird if you suddenly blurt that out. Just sayin'.
