Odds of Getting In
The great thing about being a CSI is there are lots of opportunities in the field. Think about it—CSIs deal with the safe and proper processing of fresh meats and dairy products. That means there are at least a handful of such jobs in every county across the U.S.
Entry-level positions at meat processing plants are numerous. With some hard work and a desire to learn all you can about the procedures used to keep food safe, you could become a CSI after just one year.
With so many opportunities out there, you can live and work almost anywhere. But remember, the competition for jobs in Hawaii will probably be tougher than in Iowa. Why? Nobody knows.
