Fame
There's a certain amount of potential fame that comes with being a correctional institution administrator. Not that you'd really want it. Security means keeping things on the down low to protect yourself and your family. The media may want to talk to the top dog at a prison, especially if you're housing a famous inmate. (Why are we suddenly craving a glass of O.J.? Oh. Right. Well that's awkward.)
Leave the fame for others and send your public information officer out to face the media. It's totally okay to pass the buck on this one.
