Odds of Hanging On
Like any other field, you've got to always be forging forward. If you take two years off after college and dedicate yourself to beating every video game you own, you may find that you're not as hot a commodity as you were when you were fresh out of school.
Once you do get a job—even if it's not the dream position—show up on time, put in the work, and your employer will hopefully keep you around. Hopefully they'll even write you a glowing letter of recommendation when that dream job presents itself.
