Odds of Getting In
Straight up, the odds are not great. There are a million other people out there who think they have what it takes to be the next Yves Saint Laurent (a fashion designer, not an island in the Caribbean), and so the competition for entry-level spots in the fashion industry is brutal.
You're really going to have to set yourself apart to get noticed, either with an incredible résumé of design schools and internships, or a sweet line of something no one ever knew they needed—until now.
Or you could just get a job folding pants at one of the stores in the mall. That's a fashion job, right?
