Odds of Hanging On
Keep your nose clean (literally) and you can live (literally) to fly another day (or decade). Pilots work really hard to get into the gig in the first place, so it's understandably hard to get them out. And the business of being a flight instructor is a vastly different culture than that of the people who actually work at airlines (i.e., highly unionized, or where the focus is on getting away with as little work or service as possible).
Pilots are a brotherhood (and sisterhood, although 85% of pilots are men). Skill matters. Respect matters. It's not cool to be a hot dog risk-taker. In this gig, you wanna be Ice, not Mav.
