Glory

Any glory you'll find as an oral surgeon depends on your specialty and your patients' needs. Specialize in cosmetic surgery? Are your patients mostly wealthy housewives and househusbands in search of lip fillers and a slight jaw adjustment? Then, not so glorious. Specializing in post-traumatic facial reconstructions? Are most of your patients victims of horrendous acts of violence, for whom your work is a new lease on life? Then, yeah, glorious. Very glorious.

Most likely, though, your work will fall somewhere between these two. Your patients might be in varying degrees of discomfort and pain. And they'll probably give you a happy, pain-free smile as they leave your office.
