Odds of Hanging On
Job prospects in the field may be good, but chances for promotion are not. Unless you're working as an OMS for a major corporation (maybe Crest Toothpaste keeps an OMS on demand for employees?), you'll face limited opportunities for moving up. There's nowhere to go from oral surgeon except to better-paid oral surgeon. Then again, that sounds good to us.
So long as you're okay with staying pretty much where you're at, and are friendly enough to keep your clients, you'll do just fine.
