Joshua
Figure Analysis
Eventually, Robin has to step up and take over for Batman. And things are no different for Joshua.
This guy spent many years as a sidekick, but he was born to lead. When Moses sent twelve spies to survey the Promised Land, only Joshua and Caleb encouraged the Israelites to claim the land. And what did he get for it? His life. That's right—all of his contemporaries, except Caleb and Moses, died in the wilderness.
At the end of Deuteronomy, Joshua prepares to lead the people. He's been in the background for most of the story, but now it's his turn to guide the people into the Promised Land. And he'll finally get his well-deserved top billing in the book of Joshua as the Israelites conquer the land of Canaan.
