Case File: The Sirens vs. Odysseus
Police Reports
Case Description: Complainants (the Sirens) accuse Defendant (Odysseus) of theft. When the hero cruised by the island of the Sirens, he had his crew plug their ears with beeswax and tie him to the mast. This way, his crew wouldn't be seduced by the Sirens, and Odysseus could hear them without getting him and his crew killed. The way the Sirens figure it, the price of hearing their song is death, so Odysseus stole from them by listening to their melodies and not paying with his life.
Case Status: Case closed. The Sirens are homicidal maniacs. Who cares if they think they've been stolen from or not?
