Viola de Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow)’s Timeline and Summary

Viola de Lesseps watches plays with the Queen's court and dreams of becoming an actor.
She disguises herself as a man named Thomas Kent and wins the role of Romeo in a new play.
But she soon reveals to the dreamy playwright, William Shakespeare, that she is really a woman, and the two being a passionate love affair.
Viola is engaged to be married, though, to Lord Wessex, but she doesn't love him.
After Viola is exposed as a woman and removed from the play, she has to marry Wessex, who wants to take her to America. It's a very bad day for Viola.
She sneaks away to watch the play, and when she learns there is no Juliet, she takes that role instead.
Acting across from Will as Romeo, the two reignite their passionate affair on stage.
After, Viola must say goodbye, but first she gives him ideas for a new play.
