Character Analysis
Even within The Wanting Seed, Mr. Livedog is a fictional character. In fact, he's the protagonist of an adventure serial called The Adventures of Mr. Livedog, which is published in a funny, rollicking text called the Cosmicomic. All the young boys in Tristram's classes know and love the Cosmicomic, so that means it must be good. That, and the fact that it's replaced the Bible, Quran, Torah and Talmud in Tristram's world, with Mr. Livedog as its goofy, anti-godly star.
