- Later that afternoon, the Liars go kayaking.
- Mirren thinks Cadence shouldn't come along because she might hurt her head again, but Johnny and Gat say it's okay.
- Speaking of Mirren, she's seasick. Mirren's always sick lately.
- They paddle to an inlet full of tall rocks, which Johnny and Gat begin to climb. They plan to jump from tweny-five feet in the air, despite not knowing how deep or rocky the water is.
- Cadence decides she's going to follow them.
- Johnny jumps and survives. Gat jumps and survives.
- Mirren is crying and trying to get Cadence to come down, but Cadence yells, "Always do what you are afraid to do!" and jumps.
- She, too, survives.
- She wonders if reality splits, and if we have different lives in alternate universes. She considers the fact that there might be a universe in which Johnny dies, or one in which she doesn't go with the Liars in the kayaks, and they keep telling her lies, and they all grow apart.
- It seems probable to her that these universes exist.
