20-Year Prospect
In twenty years, people will still be having problems in their relationships, and they’ll still seek attention by writing to total strangers asking them for free advice.
However, nearly all advice columnists will be bloggers by then. Readership in actual print media has been going down rapidly in the past few years and will be even lower twenty years from now.
Considering how simple and cheap it is to blog, many writers are likely to be drawn to it as a creative outlet. It's not going to be easy to make money in this field...but it never really was. The medium is going to change, but the job is still going to be responding to text-based questions with text-based advice.
