Odds of Hanging On
Bakeries don't really stick around for all that long. They mostly open, struggle to build a clientele for a couple of years, and then go out of business. If you get a job at one of those places, and you probably will, you're going to bounce around a lot over the course of your baking career.
Don't get too attached to your place of employment. It might have really cute window curtains and unparalleled cream cheese frosting, but that bakery right across the street and the bakery right next door also have really cute window curtains and delicious cream cheese frosting.
If you have your eye on a long-term career in baking, you'll need to be prepared to bounce around from place to place. If you're lucky, when your bakery closes, maybe the one right across the street or the bakery right next door might still be hiring.
