Physical Danger

Working at a hatchery can seem like the Final Destination horror movies…there are tons of ways to get hurt. Common sense tells us not to mix water and electricity, but hatcheries kinda have to do that...save yourself and your fish with automatic shutoffs and other safety features (source). Pretty much everything is wet and slippery, too, and good surface traction is a must. The equipment can be heavy or rapidly moving, so stock up on protective gear, tie back your hair, and leave the muumuu at home. Be careful not to strain your back lugging equipment or feed, and be cautious around toxic chemicals. Oh, and unless you were born with gills, definitely learn how to swim. You never know when you'll slip on a trout and end up in the drink.

And, you know, grizzlies. (Source)
