If you're broke, your odds of getting in are as dry as a mouth full of crackers. Period. Having hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank is difficult enough for most people, but you're going to want financial backing from other investors and banks to keep the branch afloat.
It can take millions, or even tens of millions, of dollars to get a brand-new hotel franchise up and running. Just try getting tens of millions of dollars out of investors. Go on. We double-dog dare you.
If you have the dough and can prove that you can keep it rolling in, you have a pretty good shot at opening a hotel franchise. Having a degree in a relevant field, like business or hospitality management, is a huge plus; having experience in those fields is even better, since then you'll have had some practice with helping a company grow its brand and increase its profits. However, what it all really comes down to is money.
