You might think this is just more of the same. It is another way to build upon the SL.3.1 standard, certainly. It's also a substandard that focuses on helping students understand where their ideas fit into the larger discussion. Are they in complete accord with everyone else, or do they have a different take on things?

Make a safe space for kids, so if they're the outliers, their thoughts are just as valid as everyone else's.
