To Bring You My Love
- Walking through town on his way home from school, Paul goes to the record store to cheer himself up.
- The owners of the store are Javier and Jules, who have been together for twenty years. Their happiness seems utterly baffling to him, and kind of heartbreaking.
- He goes to the coffee shop and sees his first boyfriend, Cody, with his new boyfriend, sharing one latte. He pretends he's busy and can't join them.
- He goes to the five-and-dime and buys candy for Jay and Tony, but has to stop himself from buying root beer barrels for Joni.
- Next stop, thrift store. He's looking for combat boots when he sees a woman who looks like Noah.
- Then he sees Claudia.
- The woman is Noah's mom.
- Claudia comes up to Paul and tells him, quietly enough that her mom can't hear, that if she were bigger she'd beat the crap out of him.
- Paul leaves the store, puts on his headphones, and runs all the way home, hating himself for hurting Noah.
