- The next morning, Uncle Hoyt comes by to take Pearl out for donuts. It's a weekend ritual.
- Pearl doesn't feel like going, so she claims she's on a diet, but her uncle calls her bluff. As far as he's concerned, you can either be thin or happy, and he thinks happy is best.
- Hoyt, Pearl, and Robby hop in the truck, where Hoyt grills Robby on his big date last night.
- Of course Hoyt doesn't know that Robby took out Mary, which makes Pearl feel a little uncomfortable.
- Robby reports that he took Mary on a tour of "unknown" Fallbrook.
- First stop? Downtown on the promenade. Then to the "bridge to poverty" where there's a creek, and finally to see his buddy the ostrich. Sadly, the ostrich was asleep.
