Odds of Hanging On
This will be an exhausting job. You'll have to be an active listener; you'll need to be sensitive to others' problems; you'll need to think critically and be socially perceptive. You may even have to go up against cruel and unusual people who make you sad to be living in such a terrible world. And you'll have to do these things all the time.
It can be pretty emotionally taxing to listen to and deal with everyone else's problems all the time. Luckily, though, the workplace perks of this job are pretty good (as you might expect), in the form of set hours, vacation time, and hopefully not terrible coffee. Ride that coffee train and take vacations when needed, because this job has the potential to get you down from time to time.
Just make sure you actually vacation when you go on vacation—try not to worry about workplace discrimination at your resort in Myrtle Beach.
One of the reasons the growth rate for this job is slow is because it's a pretty good gig to stick with once you have it. If you keep up with the responsibilities of your job and can keep intact the empathy for workers that got you interested in the first place, you should be set.
