The glory of being a highway maintenance worker comes from preventing accidents on the road by using a one-person plow to get snow and ice off of the road. It comes from installing and repairing guard rails that keep cars from plummeting into a canyon. It comes from knowing how to use bituminous materials to fix potholes in the road that keep messin' up cars.

Nearly everyone uses the thing you fix up. People need highways for vacations, commuting to work, and even just getting to the next town to buy those fancy aromatherapy diffusers that they absolutely must have. We need maintenance workers to keep everything moving in the U.S.
