If you're the sort of shipwright to focus on architecture and engineering, then your personal danger level is going to be about a ten...on a scale of ten to twenty. You'll be in an office, probably in a comfy high-backed chair, soaking in the AC, and working on a computer or drawing easel. Sure, there's some risk associated with bad posture and eyestrain, but that's nothing a little personal responsibility can't clear right up for you.

Now, some shipwrights are a bit more hands-on, taking the term to mean more of a "builder" than a "designer." Other shipwright designers get their start through building. Building ships can be incredibly dangerous. 

You know how construction sites have danger signs everywhere? Imagine you're working in one of those, except you're also surrounded by cold blue liquid that can snuff out anyone who stays under it too long.

If you want to be in the construction side of this biz, just make sure you have a lot of training, a great knack for swimming, and a solid insurance policy.
