Star Trek III: The Search for Spock Scene 34 Summary

  • McCoy comes out of the ritual unharmed—minus, we assume, some deep-seated trauma.
  • Sarek informs Kirk that only time will tell if Spock is okay. He thanks the admiral, but Kirk contends that he had to do it.
  • Spock walks by Kirk and turns around in reminiscence. He asks Kirk why he would come back for him, and Kirk explains that the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many.
  • Spock turns to leave, but the memories of his final moments come back. He remembers Kirk's name is "Jim."
  • Overjoyed, the crew embraces their friend.
  • A title card promises us that the adventure will continue but more on that whale of a tale later. Roll credits.
